The concept
"Hälsingland tunes" is as well-known in Swedish folk music
circles as the corresponding idea from Dalarna, from Uppland, from Jamtland
and from other provinces.
At the
same time, it seems as if the Hälsingland tunes have a special status
in some way, and these virtuoso polskas with their rolling style
of bowing across several strings, often in flat keys, were an unreachable
goal for many fiddlers.
The
booklet contains 24 pages of detailed notes in both English and Swedish,
as well as a rich treasure-chest of archive photos.
