Hurv KRCD-36: From where I see it (Från min utsiktspunkt)
Anders Rosén Violins as played from c. 1700 and c. 1800; tunes composed by Anders Rosén This album presents two violins set up as they were in earlier times, "baroque violins" if you like: though it's not baroque music we hear, but rather folk music played on instruments which are authentic for the styles of earlier times. The tunes have often arisen as I found myself humming or whistling something while I was doing something else, making a meal maybe, and which I then started 'listening to'. Many are very simple and could have been played on any drone instrument. For me this music is like the mumbling of well-known and secure voices from the next room, mixed with the clinking of coffee cups. Sometimes it's a general murmuring, sometimes voices are raised and can even sound upset rather like the way the wind gets hold of the tops of the trees to give them a bit of a shake. Then they're lowered again and can become almost silent. Now and then one clear voice comes across like a soloist, distinct above the murmuring, and you can hear perfectly clear words and sentences ...
