Studio Hagen

Studio Hagen is situated in beautiful Outer Malung 15 km south of Malung, alongside the main-eng road between Borlänge and Sälen.

The studio has rooms which are specially designed from an acoustic point of view. The reverb time is short in the low bass register, so that , e.g. a bass drum will be dampened. In the region of higher frequencies the reverb time is longer so that cymbals and acoustic instruments retain their brightness.

The kernel in the equipment is a Pro Tools 24 system - 24-bit hard-disc recording and 32 channels. For those who prefer analog recording, there is a Soundcraft 16-channel tape recorder. The ProTools-systemet includes a good quantity of plug-in programs for treating sound and mastering, including the complete Waves TDM Bundle. Final mastering and PQ coding up to the final master on CD-R or 8mm Exabyte digital tape are included.

The microphone package consists of a collection of Neumann tube microphones, including the classic M7-capsule (the same as in the U47) as well as some old soviet LOMO tube mikes, with a sound more related to that of the AKG C12. As well as these, there are many high-quality conventional condensator- and dynamic microphones.
